Service 02 · PR Coaching

Learn the tricks of the trade. Run your own PR like a pro.

One-to-one PR coaching tailored to your business. Press release writing, media-list building, pitching journalists, following up without being a pest. Senior guidance from someone who has spent twenty-five years on both sides of the desk.

Senior PR, without the agency price tag.

Not every business is at the stage where it can or should put a PR agency on retainer. But almost every business has a story, and most can be taught how to land it themselves with a bit of senior guidance behind them. That is what PR Coaching is for.

We sit down with you, look at your business with fresh eyes, find the angle a journalist would actually care about, and walk you through how to write it, who to send it to and how to follow up. You leave the session with worked-through copy, a starter media list, and a clear action plan for the next thirty days.

What we cover

  • Finding the genuine news story inside your business
  • Writing a press release that reads like news
  • Building a focused, relevant media list
  • How to pitch journalists by email and phone
  • The follow-up: persistent without being annoying
  • Spokesperson basics: how to handle an interview
  • Long-lead vs short-lead: planning a year of PR
  • Press packs, photography and digital assets
  • Trade press, national press, broadcast: when to use which
  • What to do when a story actually lands

Who it's for

PR Coaching works best for founders, in-house marketers and small business owners who want to do their own PR but don't want to learn the hard way. It also works well for marketing teams who want to up-skill in PR without sending someone on a generic course.

A lot of our coaching clients come back later for occasional outsourced PR support when something big lands on their desk. That's by design: once you understand how the engine works, you know exactly when to call in extra horsepower.

Single sessions or a block

You can book a single session, or a block of three to work through a launch end-to-end. We'll usually recommend the right shape after our first call, based on what you're trying to do.

How a session runs

Four parts to every coaching session.

Discover

We start with what's actually happening in your business right now. The story is almost always already there.

Shape

We turn that material into a story angle a journalist would care about. You'll see the pivot point in real time.

Write

We walk through writing the release together. Headlines, intros, quotes, boilerplate, the lot.

Plan

A starter media list, a follow-up rhythm, and a clear 30-day action plan for you to execute after the session.

PR Coaching · FAQ

Common questions, plainly answered.

If yours isn't on the list, the fastest way to an answer is a quick call.

Who is PR coaching for?

Founders, in-house marketers and small business owners who want to do their own PR with senior guidance behind them. Particularly useful if you're at the stage where you can't yet justify a retainer but you want to start getting noticed.

What's covered in a session?

Sessions are tailored. Common topics: finding the story in your business, writing a press release that reads like news, building a press list, pitching journalists, and following up without being a pest.

How long is a session?

Typically 90 minutes for a single session, or a block of three sessions if you want to work through a launch end to end.

Is it in person or online?

Either. We're based in Kent and run sessions in person across the South East and London. We also run sessions on video calls for clients elsewhere in the UK.

Do I get anything to take away?

Yes. Every session comes with worked-through examples on your business, a starter list of relevant media contacts, and a clear action list. You're not paying for slides you'll never look at again.

Ready to get going?

Book a free fit-call, or just jump straight in.

Whichever you'd prefer. We'll be honest about whether coaching is the right answer for where you are.
